About the role

As our General Manager - Transformation, you will be responsible for leading and orchestrating Australian Retirement Trust (ART)'s transformation strategy and initiatives. The role will drive large scale change and continuous improvement programs in line with the organisation strategy and objectives.

 

In addition to the below accountabilities, leadership qualities and behaviours aligned to ART’s values of ‘courage’, ‘empathy’, ‘excellence’ are to be demonstrated while performing this role

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive transformation strategy agenda and delivery framework that supports ART’s purpose and business objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of transformation projects ensuring alignment with the strategic goals, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Drive mature project management, change management, resource planning and business analysis capabilities and frameworks driving consistency and simplicity in the delivery of projects.
  • Explore, develop and implement governance practices in relation to delivery of projects to enhance change management and risk capabilities, change improve operational efficiencies and support key initiatives.
  • Drive the implementation of contemporary ways of working to build strong capabilities to facilitate smooth transitions and adoption of new processes, technologies, optimising business operating models
  • Develop and track key measurements of success and impact of transformation initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Act as the Chief Operating Officer delegate on CSI and other strategic initiatives as required.
  • Inspire and lead high-performing teams by fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture, driving engagement, and ensuring alignment with ART’s strategic objectives including cross functional teams involved in transformation initiatives
  • Ensure comprehensive risk management strategies are developed, implemented, and continuously monitored to mitigate organisational risks, aligning with ART’s overall risk appetite that enable effective and efficient delivery of large-scale change initiatives.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and management of budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational financial goals and efficient allocation of resources.

 

This role is permanent opportunity. Preferably you would be based in Brisbane, but we are open to applicants in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. 

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role focussed on business transformation and change management within a complex organisation.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive execution.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Technology or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across an organisation including the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes at an executive and Board level.
  • Deep understanding of change management principles, including change risk practices.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of contemporary Technology related frameworks and methodologies, including information technology infrastructure library (ITIL), COBIT, TOGAF, AGILE, and SCRUM.
