About the role The Accounting Operations team is part of the Finance and Tax business unit and is responsible for transaction processing and related reconciliations associated with the Public Offer. There are three main operational areas of Accounting Operations: - Daily member fund reconciliations which capture the daily interface transactions from the member record keeping system and process the payments to members.
- Daily member cashflow calculations and investing advice; and
- Daily suspense and bank account reconciliations.
This role will focus on member benefit payments and the associated transactional processing and investigation that is required. Communication with internal staff will be essential to identify transactions and ensure they are treated in the appropriate manner. You will also provide backup and assistance to other team members as necessary and during periods of leave. Key aspects of the role include: - Daily Reconciliation of EARS transactions and member balances to the general ledger.
- Daily benefit payments preparation and reconciliation.
- Adhering to strict deadlines when preparing the cashflow instruction to the custodian.
- General ledger reconciliations – investigate and liaise with administration areas to ensure member related transactions and adjustments are processed accurately.
- Member related reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual requirements.
- Operating as back up to other members of the Accounting Operations Team.
- Reviewing, updating and documenting procedures pertaining to functions performed.
This role is available as a 12-month opportunity. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Relevant experience in a finance transactional processing role or able to demonstrate practical equivalent experience.
- Good systems capability, able to learn and understand new systems quickly.
- Proficient in Microsoft excel.
