About the role You’ll play a hands-on role in strengthening how risk is managed across the organisation. Working within Risk & Compliance, you’ll deliver high-quality assurance outcomes through various assurance activities (including controls testing), stakeholder engagement, and insight-driven reporting. This is a great opportunity to deepen your expertise in assurance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk while working with experienced risk leaders. Day to Day You'll: - Conduct a broad range of assurance activities to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls, processes and frameworks across various business areas
- Perform walkthroughs, document reviews, and evidence-based testing
- Analyse findings and clearly document control gaps, risks, and recommendations
- Prepare detailed assurance reports and maintain audit-quality documentation
- Partner with stakeholders to understand processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Support remediation plans and validate that issues have been addressed
- Contribute to regulatory assurance aligned to APRA standards (SPS 220, CPS 230, CPS 234)
- Use data and insights to identify trends, emerging risks, and process enhancements
This is a permanent opportunity based in either Brisbane or Sydney. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Experience in control testing, assurance, internal audit, or risk, ideally within a financial services, consulting or regulatory environment
- Knowledge of and experience executing against risk frameworks and assurance methodologies
- Ability to educate stakeholders on control design and best practice
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence gathering evidence and conducting stakeholder discussions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to produce quality documentation
Nice to have: - Tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Risk, Law or a related field
- Exposure to APRA standards or regulated environments
