About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. We’re seeking a Claims Technical Specialist to uplift technical capability across our Life Claims and Underwriting teams. As a life claims subject matter expert, you’ll deliver targeted training, embed consistent practices, and lead new starter induction.

Day to day, you'll:

• Design and deliver high‑quality technical training for new starters and experienced claims personnel
• Coordinate and run end‑to‑end new starter induction, including onboarding, coaching, and mentoring
• Conduct training needs analyses to identify capability gaps, trends, and operational risk
• Develop practical technical guidelines, tools, and reference materials to support consistent decision‑making
• Build and maintain a library of training programs, resources, and assessments
• Analyse QA outcomes, quality reviews, and claims data to inform targeted uplift activity
• Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, deep‑dive reviews, and continuous

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: 

• Significant experience in life insurance claims, with deep technical expertise
• Strong medical, occupational, financial, and product knowledge related to claims
• Proven experience developing and delivering technical training to claims professionals
• Demonstrated ability to create clear, practical technical guidelines and frameworks
• Sound knowledge of superannuation and insurance legislation
• Experience interpreting QA outcomes, audits, or quality reviews
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and operational audiences
• Tertiary qualifications in Life Insurance, Business, Health, or a related discipline are desirable.
