As a Senior Software Engineer at Australian Retirement Trust, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and supporting high‑quality digital solutions that help deliver exceptional experiences for our members. Working within a collaborative technology environment, you will contribute to market‑leading outcomes by leveraging modern platforms, tools, and engineering practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and supporting robust application solutions aligned to ART’s technical strategy and business objectives
• Leading hands‑on development across Sitecore JSS / XM Cloud solutions, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable outcomes
• Building and integrating solutions with enterprise platforms including CRM systems and API Management (APIM)
• Collaborating closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders to analyse requirements and deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions
• Performing code, design, and architecture reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to engineering standards
• Supporting release planning, build preparation, and deployment activities across Agile and Waterfall delivery environments
• Diagnosing, investigating, and resolving complex incidents and system issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and contributing to a strong engineering culture grounded in courage, empathy, and excellence

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent qualification
• Strong hands‑on experience with Sitecore JSS and XM Cloud, including integrations with CRM platforms and API Management (APIM)
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React.js and Next.js
• Hands‑on experience using Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and release management
• Proven problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a strong focus on quality, performance, and maintainability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, including release coordination and support activities
• Demonstrated ability to estimate, plan, and manage development tasks in complex, enterprise‑scale environments
