About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As the Technical Lead – Security, you will play a pivotal role in uplifting ART’s DevSecOps capability by embedding secure‑by‑design practices across engineering delivery. Working closely with Security, Threat Management, Architecture, Cloud & Infrastructure and delivery squads, you will provide hands‑on technical leadership to improve security outcomes without compromising developer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation and adoption of DevSecOps practices across CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security is built into the SDLC from design through to deployment
  • Operationalise vulnerability remediation across tools such as Qualys, GitHub Advanced Security, Veracode and Sonatype, translating findings into actionable backlog items
  • Embed security automation into CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, dependency management and release gating
  • Establish secure defaults and guardrails during GitHub Enterprise Cloud migrations, including repository policies, branch protections and secure workflows
  • Drive adoption of Azure Minimum Security Baseline controls across build, release and cloud infrastructure environments
  • Partner with engineering squads to coach, pair and unblock teams, improving security capability while reducing friction and toil through automation
  • Champion policy‑as‑code and configuration scanning (e.g. Terraform/Bicep) to prevent misconfigurations before deployment
  • Collaborate with Security and Threat Management to improve security observability, reporting, and incident readiness across build and code environments

This role is a permanent opportunity.

📍 Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • Strong experience in a DevOps or software engineering role, with an understanding of modern application development practices
  • Practical, hands‑on experience implementing security automation within CI/CD pipelines (SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, dependency management and release gates)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, including deployment automation and operational support
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar
  • Experience supporting vulnerability management and remediation workflows, including triage, prioritisation and coaching teams through fixes
  • Strong software engineering foundations, including clean code practices, automated testing, and maintainable design
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across engineering, security and architecture teams, influencing outcomes without direct authority
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a passion for uplifting developer capability and security maturity
