About the role You’ll be the friendly voice on the phone, helping members through their insurance application. As an Underwriter Tele-Interviewer, you’ll: - Chat with members to collect personal and medical info for insurance applications.
- Record details clearly and accurately – especially pre-existing conditions.
- Support our Underwriters with admin and risk assessment information.
- Explain why we need certain details in a way that’s easy to understand.
- Help improve our phone scripts, processes and training.
- Keep things running smoothly so members have a great experience, and we hit our goals.
- Understand medical terms so you can collect the right info clearly and confidently.
About you You’re a great listener, a clear communicator, and you genuinely care about people. You know how to make someone feel heard, even over the phone. You’re calm, patient, and can explain things in a way that’s easy to understand. You’re not just collecting information – you’re building trust, one conversation at a time. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Patience and empathy when speaking with members.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- A love of learning and improving how things are done.
- Experience working in a team and following risk and compliance processes.
- Bonus points if you’ve worked in medical or underwriting roles.
