Resolution Specialist

About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Resolution Specialist, you’ll support the Resolution Lead in managing and resolving disputes involving ART Life, including Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) and External Dispute Resolution (EDR) matters.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external resolution bodies, such as the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), to prepare submissions, support conciliations, and ensure disputes are resolved in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.

 

Day to day, you'll: 

  • Manage disputes end to end with external bodies such as AFCA, including submissions and conciliations.
  • Support the resolution of IDR and EDR matters involving, or with potential to involve, ART Life.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external dispute resolution bodies.
  • Apply sound judgement, critical thinking and a risk‑aware approach to complex disputes.
  • Maintain accurate dispute records and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical advice on policy interpretation and legislation to Claims & Underwriting.
  • Ensure all dispute activity aligns with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and RG 277.

📍 Location: Brisbane or Sydney

This role is available as a permanent opportunity.

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills we'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with strong judgement and the ability to manage sensitive and complex matters. It’s quite likely you’ll tick some of the following boxes too:

  • Experience in dispute resolution, complaints handling, or a similar role within financial services or insurance
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Well, developed analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing submissions.
  • Knowledge of group life insurance products and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in superannuation or superannuation legislation (highly regarded).
