As an Underwriting Technical Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in building market leading underwriting capability, lifting performance, enhancing systems, and making underwriting smarter, simpler, and better for our members. Day to day, you'll: - Provide expert technical support to our underwriting team, tele interviewers, and into our automated underwriting.
- Design, test and enhance the Underwriting Rules Engine (URE) and other digital solutions to improve straight through processing and the member experience.
- Develop clear, practical underwriting guidelines that support consistent decision making.
- Conduct an analysis of training needs and deliver targeted training that complements existing capability and lifts technical confidence.
- Work closely with the Underwriting team to support quality, uplift skills and drive continuous improvement.
- Support our internal underwriting quality assurance

- You’ve got a training skill set and enjoy coaching, mentoring and developing others.
- You’re confident writing and refining underwriting guidelines and technical material.
- You work well with others and enjoy supporting a broader team to succeed.
- Quality assurance experience is a bonus, but not essential.
