About the role As a Managing Legal Counsel – Investments (ART UK), you will be a trusted advisor trusted adviser and business partner in relation to investment matters, providing specialist, solutions-focused legal advice and services. You will be part of the legal team with a primary focus on advising ART UK and its operations. You will be responsible for assisting ART in meeting its legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.
Day to day, you'll: - Be a strategic leader, with a focus on strategic objectives, navigating change, fostering a culture of innovation and adapting approaches as needed while maintaining legal risk within appetite.
- Lead and provide timely, accurate and commercially appropriate legal advice for the activities of ART UK, including, without limitation:
- Being the primary point of contact for ART UK staff for all legal matters;
- Provide timely, accurate and commercially appropriate legal advice for the activities of ART UK operational activities, such as office leases, visa applications and other operational matters;
- Liaise with internal stakeholders relating to ART UK operations in the Risk, Compliance and the broader People and Impact business areas;
- Monitor activities of ART UK as it relates to licensing and other regulatory requirements, including liaising with external legal advisers to support ART UK’s operations;
- Support the broader Investments Legal teams on investment related activities of ART UK on complex investment related documentation and investment structures arising from ART’s investments in Australia and offshore.
- Oversee and/or provide expert advice in relation to management of litigation and disputes arising from investments managed by the ART UK team.
- Remain current with changes in legislation and best practice particularly as it impacts investment activities in ART UK by conducting research, interpretation and training.

It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Tertiary qualification in Law and current unrestricted practising certificate as a Legal Practitioner in Australia.
- Extensive legal experience in a law firm and/ or investment bank specialising in private market investments.
- Ability to lead negotiations on a range of complex and high value matters.
- Robust negotiation, drafting, influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
- Proven ability to provide professional, concise advice and solutions to technical, legislative, and strategic issues.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strategic working relationships, influence, negotiate with and persuade senior stakeholders.
- Ability to advise and support key projects and transactions and juggle various projects at the same time.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support the UK office operations.
- Ability to undertake interstate and international travel.
