About the role

As a People Business Partner at Australian Retirement Trust, you’ll work closely with divisional and business unit leaders to shape and embed people strategies that lift engagement, capability, and performance. You’ll use your HR expertise and data-driven insights to coach leaders, inform decisions, and deliver practical interventions across organisation design, talent, performance, reward, and ER/IR. The role is dynamic and collaborative—partnering across People & Culture and the business to plan, prioritise, and operationalise initiatives that enable transformation and sustainable results. You’ll be a trusted advisor who balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution, strengthening an inclusive culture where people belong and excel.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Partner with leadership teams to co-create and embed divisional/business unit people strategies aligned to business goals
  • Translate strategy into actionable people plans and deliverables, with clear measures of impact
  • Analyse people metrics to surface insights and recommend targeted interventions to improve performance and capability
  • Coach leaders on performance management, talent development, organisation design, restructuring, remuneration, and reward
  • Plan and run cyclical P&C activities (e.g., performance, remuneration, talent reviews) so they’re timely, consistent, and business-ready
  • Provide expert guidance on complex people matters, escalating appropriately and ensuring legislative compliance
  • Contribute to and collaborate on enterprise People initiatives and cross-functional squads
  • Lead change and project work, applying effective change management to enable adoption and outcomes

We have one permanent opportunity and one fixed term opportunity until end of June 2026 available based in Brisbane
