About the role

Australian Retirement Trust (ART) is one of Australia’s largest superannuation funds, with a clear purpose: to help our members retire with confidence. As a significant financial institution, we are continuing to uplift our risk maturity and regulatory response capability in line with evolving regulatory expectations and ART strategy.

We’re looking for an experienced Regulatory Response Manager to lead the delivery of complex regulatory and incident responses across the organisation.

This role is responsible for managing significant, high‑risk regulatory and legal matters across Line 1. You’ll work closely with accountable executives and partner with Legal, Line 2 Risk, Regulatory Affairs, technology teams and business leaders to deliver high‑quality, timely and well‑governed responses to regulators.

This is a senior, visible role requiring strong judgement, stakeholder influence and the ability to lead teams through complexity, ambiguity and time‑critical matters.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of complex and material regulatory investigations, reviews, enquiries and responses
  • Provide governance, advice and execution support to executives accountable for regulatory responses
  • Partner with Legal on major legal matters requiring significant Line 1 input
  • Shape and maintain Line 1 risk views of emerging and forthcoming regulatory matters
  • Design, uplift and embed best‑practice regulatory response methods, tools and templates across Line 1
  • Support portfolio management activities, including resourcing, reporting, and risk and issue management across regulatory matters
  • Support and strengthen team capability and resilience in high‑pressure, highly regulated environments
  • Drive learning cycles, quality assurance and continuous improvement across regulatory responses
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology, data, AI and analytics to improve regulatory response quality and efficiency

This role is a permanent opportunity.

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk, operational risk, compliance and governance frameworks (including APRA standards)
  • Extensive experience delivering major regulatory responses (e.g. regulatory notices, licence conditions, regulatory reviews, independent expert reviews)
  • Proven ability to engage, advise and influence senior leaders and executives
  • Experience managing regulatory or legal portfolios and complex projects
  • Experience supporting and strengthening high‑performing teams in high‑intensity environments
  • Strong analytical capability with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
