About the role As an Operational Resilience Specialist at Australian Retirement Trust, you’ll help ensure our fund can prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions so members remain protected and confident. You’ll play a hands‑on role delivering our operational resilience program—partnering across the business to embed CPS 230 Operational Risk Management and strengthen continuity practices end‑to‑end. You’ll coordinate critical‑operations activities such as Business Impact Analyses, Business Continuity Plan reviews, and testing, while leading exercises that build organisational readiness. You’ll also monitor emerging disruption and crisis risks, maintain processes and tools, and contribute to governance and executive and board reporting that demonstrates our control effectiveness and continuous improvement. Key aspects of the role include: - Drive delivery of ART’s operational resilience strategy and capability to prevent material adverse impacts to members and beneficiaries.
- Embed and sustain APRA Prudential Standard CPS 230 requirements across the organisation.
- Coordinate business units to meet business continuity requirements for critical operations, including BIA, BCP reviews, and testing.
- Plan, lead, and facilitate the Operational Resilience Test & Exercise program with critical operation owners and key stakeholders.
- Maintain disruption and crisis management processes, tools, and readiness activities for preparedness, response, and recovery.
- Provide pragmatic risk advice and recommend mitigation measures aligned to the Board’s risk appetite, legislation, and industry best practice.
- Develop and maintain governance documents that support operational resilience across ART.
- Monitor internal and external environments for emerging business disruption and crisis risks and take proactive action where appropriate.
- Contribute to executive, committee, and board reporting, evidencing risk profile, control effectiveness, treatments, and emerging issues.
- Support reviews and audits with a strong focus on compliance with relevant APRA Prudential Standards.

- Have a background working within a regulated superannuation environment and an understanding of compliance expectations.
- Able to analyse how changes impact business processes and implement practical, effective solutions.
- Stay calm and focused when navigating ambiguity or responding to disruption.
- Known for a flexible, pragmatic mindset paired with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable working with APRA regulations or motivated to develop deeper capability in this area.
