About the role

Our goal is to make paying super effortless for employers, and you can help us lighten the load for employers all over Australia. As the Lead Quality Engineer - Beam, you’ll be the quality custodian, designing, building, and maintaining test automation solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with product goals. You’ll lead a team of quality engineers, set standards, and collaborate across product and engineering teams to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

 

You’ll also drive technical and process improvements, support integration efforts, and provide hands-on testing expertise when needed.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Lead and coach the Quality Engineering team to deliver effective testing solutions.
  • Set quality assurance standards and advocating modern tools and techniques.
  • Design and maintain test automation frameworks across multiple products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into testing strategies.
  • Enhance testing across data pipelines, APIs, mobile, cloud, and web UI.
  • Provide technical support and driving continuous improvement in testing practices.

 

This role is a permanent opportunity. 

 

📍 Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • You’ve led test automation and system testing in CI/CD environments and know how to build frameworks that scale.
  • You’re hands-on with tools like Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, UIPath, and languages like C#, Java, and SQL, and you know how to choose the right tool for the job.
  • You’re a strategic thinker who can translate complex requirements into smart testing approaches that deliver results.
  • You’re collaborative by nature, with strong communication skills and a knack for engaging stakeholders and guiding teams.
  • You’re detail-oriented and creative, always looking for ways to improve testing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • You bring experience across diverse testing landscapes, data pipelines, APIs, mobile, cloud, and web UI, and know how to apply the right methodology for each.
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked in financial services, payroll, or employer software, and hold certifications like ISTQB.
