About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll provide data science and insights services in the Insurance Solutions and Insights (ISI) business unit within ART Life Insurance.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Implement and maintain segmentation, predictive models, forecasting, AI and other analytics solutions to meet business needs and improve business outcomes.
  • Interpret data (both internal and external) and analyse results using statistical techniques to provide insights into trends within ART Life Insurance and the wider life insurance industry.
  • Undertake research projects to confirm or disprove hypothesis about drivers of business performance by seeking input from subject matter experts, reviewing documentation and operational procedures and undertaking data analysis activities.
  • Identify, analyse, interpret, and forecast trends or patterns in data sets using modelling/machine learning techniques to enable the organisation to determine strategic initiatives.

 

About you

You seamlessly blend advanced analytical skills with deep industry knowledge to drive impactful business decisions. You excel at leveraging vast datasets to uncover insights that enhance risk assessment, optimise underwriting processes, and improve member experiences. Your expertise in machine learning and predictive modeling enables you to forecast trends and identify opportunities for innovation. Furthermore, you possess strong communication skills, allowing you to translate complex data findings into actionable strategies for stakeholders. 

  • You have technical proficiency and experience in SQL, Python/R preferably in a cloud
    environment. 
  • You have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and across multi-
    disciplinary teams. 
  • You have previous experience in the insurance industry and an understanding of
    insurance concepts such as actuarial reserving, experience analysis, claims
    processing and underwriting (desirable). 
  • You have experience with using data science techniques to solve business
    problems
