Senior Manager - Commercial Assurance

About the role

As a Senior Manager - Commercial Assurance, you will be responsible for delivering strategic and commercial services that add value, manage enterprise-wide risks and promote better decision making and transparency, all in alignment with Australian Retirement Trust’s (ART's) strategic ambition.

 

Specifically, you will lead the provision of independent financial and commercial assurance for ART’s large-scale programs, drive governance excellence in the program office, and enhance organisational performance by balancing opportunities with commercial risk for ART.   

 

Key aspects of the role include:

 

Commercial Assurance

  • Managing, developing and overseeing the implementation of appropriate finance and commercial strategies across ART’s large-scale programs.
  • Managing, developing and overseeing the implementation of appropriate financial and commercial controls and governance across all of ART’s large-scale programs, aligned to ART’s frameworks, policies and risk appetite.
  • Identification and escalation of financial and commercial opportunities relevant to large-scale programs, with the program sponsor and other senior/executive stakeholders.

Enterprise Program Management Office

  • Manage and execute the Group’s portfolio management and ideation assessment strategy.
  • Facilitate the process of defining and managing the enterprise-wide Portfolio Strategy model to maintain a balanced and aligned portfolio of change.

Enterprise Benchmarking and Reporting

  • Lead an enterprise-wide review of Members Best Financial Interest Policy and Standard, incorporating stakeholder feedback to update relevant Enterprise Policies and Standards across ART.
  • Consider all aspects of the Benefits Management framework including merger benefits, reporting of outcomes from new Superannuation Fund transfers and the overall portfolio benefits tracking reports.

This role is available as a permanent opportunity.

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • A relevant degree qualification in finance, business, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial management, ideally within financial services. 
  • Strong financial management and communication skills.
  • Experience in negotiating supplier contracts and managing change programs.  
  • Strong cross functional and collaborative leadership, planning and management skills. 
  • Strong leadership capability in a large and complex organisation, focused on building a customer focused, performance-based culture. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance frameworks for superannuation in Australia is desired.
