About the role

As a Claims Manager, you’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of life and disability claims, applying your expertise to deliver fair, transparent, and outcome-focused decisions. This role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage sensitive discussions with members and stakeholders. 

Day to day, you'll:

• Assess and manage complex claims, including Income Protection and TPD, by reviewing contractual, medical, functional, and occupational information.
• Conduct detailed interviews and collaborate with medical professionals to ensure accurate understanding of conditions and return-to-work planning.
• Develop and execute strategic case management plans to achieve optimal outcomes for members.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in challenging situations, balancing empathy with commercial considerations.

About you

You’re a seasoned professional who thrives in a complex and fast-paced environment. With a strong foundation in life insurance claims, you bring both technical expertise and emotional intelligence to every interaction. Your ability to balance empathy with commercial decision-making sets you apart, and you’re confident in managing sensitive conversations while maintaining transparency and trust. You'll also tick the boxes below:

• Extensive experience in life insurance claims management, with a focus on Income Protection and/or TPD.
• Strong ability to handle sensitive and difficult conversations with confidence and professionalism.
• Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and organisational skills.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in allied health or equivalent experience in claims management.
