About the role

Reporting to the Capital Markets Support Manager, the Asset Administration Analyst will play a key role in the delivery of daily collateral and securities lending operations to the Australian Retirement Trust Investment team. You will work closely with other teams within Investment Operations and Performance, specifically the Cash and Treasury team and the Capital Market Operations team.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly deliverables are met within for the following, but not limited to:

    • management of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of capital markets trades, oversight of collateral management (bilateral and cleared) and oversight of securities lending program – all to time critical, complete and accurate standards.

    • Delivery and reconciliation of OTC derivative trades to trade repositories to ensure compliance obligations are reliably met; and

    • design, prepare, test, plan and execute system scripts so that the Capital Markets trading system delivers to the business requirements.

  • Consistently deliver optimal service through the provision of regular reporting and attending to queries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Identify, implement and oversee opportunities for process improvements, and using structured commercial thinking, recommend efficiencies that may improve current practices.

  • Ensure the team is monitoring and reviewing updates to procedures so that a strong governance framework is maintained in an environment of ongoing change.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and assurance providers in a professional and diligent manner.

  • Work with other business units and teams in the onboarding of new counterparties / investment managers in line with agreed delivery and reporting timeframes.

 

This role is available as an 8-month secondment opportunity. 

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • A relevant qualification in finance, mathematics, business, commerce or economics.

  • Good communication skills and demonstrated desire and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, and to influence outcomes through a collaborative approach.

  • Good technology skills (i.e. advanced spread sheeting, high degree of familiarity with systems integration, relational databases and automated work-flow concepts), including the ability to specify and prototype business requirements and processes (e.g. data flow diagrams).

  • Understanding of, or strong desire to learn, financial instruments (physical and derivatives) such as money market and fixed interest securities, futures and forward FX contracts, particularly in relation to their usage within portfolio management, and their underlying mechanics (transaction life cycle and valuation methodologies).
