About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for technical guidance and expertise for the design, development, and support of the Australian Retirement Trust’s (ART) Mobile applications 

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Perform code and design reviews of software developed by others in accordance with company standards, ensuring consistent high-quality solutions are developed.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads, set standards for programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines, and the selection of appropriate development methods.
  • Lead, analyse, develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change.
  • Investigate problems in systems, processes and services and assist with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
  • Maintain awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address technical challenges or to enable new ways of working.
  • Prioritise and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures and investigate causes of incidents and seek resolutions.
  • Provide accurate cost and duration estimates for specified work by participating in in planning, estimation, design, and architecture of system and technologies across a wide array of platforms.
  • Mentor and train team members and others.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • Experience leading and mentoring developers
  • In-depth expertise and experience developing mobile applications using React Native.
  • Experience writing and reviewing code using TypeScript and other modern JS tools and frameworks.
  • Implement and maintain DevOps workflows for mobile builds and deployments
  • Experience in app store management processes
