About the role Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the General Manager Risk – Enablement plays a key leadership role within Australian Retirement Trust’s Risk and Compliance team. You’ll lead the enhancement of risk frameworks across technology, transformation, and operations—including enterprise IT, cybersecurity, data, and core superannuation processes. This role partners closely with senior executives across Enablement to embed strong risk practices and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and ART’s risk appetite. With strategic oversight and expert guidance, you’ll help shape a resilient, future-ready organisation that delivers for millions of Australians. Day to day, you'll: - Provide visionary leadership in risk enablement, aligning strategy with ART’s enterprise goals and future direction.
- Shape and execute a forward-thinking risk management strategy across technology, transformation, and operations.
- Influence and collaborate with senior executives to embed risk into strategic decision-making and business planning.
- Lead second line oversight of risk across critical domains including IT, cybersecurity, data, digital platforms, and operational resilience.
- Deliver high-level risk advice on transformative initiatives such as cloud adoption, digital innovation, and operating model evolution.
- Design and implement enterprise-wide risk frameworks and tools aligned with APRA standards
- Monitor emerging risks and performance indicators to inform executive reporting and strategic response.
- Champion a strong, enterprise-wide risk culture that supports confident, informed decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in risk capability, systems, and team performance.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team aligned to ART’s purpose, values, and strategic priorities.

- Proven leadership in managing technology and operational risk at an enterprise level.
- Strong knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards (CPS 230, CPS 234), ISO standards, and relevant frameworks.
- Deep expertise in cybersecurity, cloud technologies, digital platforms, and operational resilience.
- Commercially astute with the ability to balance risk and opportunity to support sustainable member outcomes.
- Skilled in overseeing third-party risk, outsourcing, and service provider arrangements.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate emerging risks and shape long-term risk strategy.
- Exceptional communicator and influencer, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams aligned to organisational purpose and strategy.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Risk, IT, or related fields; professional certifications (e.g., CRISC, CPA) are highly regarded.
