As a Senior Legal Counsel – Investments (Mid Risk Assets and Growth) you will be a trusted adviser and business partner in relation to investment matters, providing specialist, solutions-focused legal advice and services. A key focus of your role will be supporting the implementation of APRA’s CPS 230 Operational Risk Management. Day to day, you'll: - Provide timely, accurate and commercially appropriate legal advice on investment related activities.
- Lead the review and assessment of complex investment related documentation and investment structures and supporting various projects, with a primary focus on organisational resilience.
- Provide expert advice in relation to management of litigation and disputes arising from investments by the Mid Risk team (Infrastructure, Real Estate and Private Credit) and Growth (Private Equity and Public Equity).
- Provide legal and regulatory compliance with CPS 230 for Investment Management Agreements and other material service provider agreements including ART’s funds of one.
- Collaborate and develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure advice is provided.
This role is available as a 9-month max-term/ secondment opportunity. 📍 Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Tertiary qualification in Law and current unrestricted practising certificate as a Legal Practitioner in Australia.
- Extensive legal experience in a law firm and/or in house role.
- Ability to lead negotiations on a range of complex and high value matters.
- Robust negotiation, drafting, influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
- Experience in advising and working collaboratively with business teams to deliver time and business critical projects.
- Experience liaising and building effective relationships with key business stakeholders, including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to advise and support key projects and transactions and juggle various projects at the same time.
