As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, automating, protecting, and maintaining robust IT systems and environments that support mission-critical applications across hybrid and cloud infrastructures. You will also: - Be responsible for backing up and protection of business data and IT systems.
- Collaborating with Infrastructure teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
- Researching, developing, and deploying automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools for cloud and virtualised environments.
- Ensuring efficient functioning of IT solutions and services in line with security policies and best practices.
- Safeguarding systems against cybersecurity threats and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Working closely with engineering teams to implement the most effective cloud-based solutions.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise infrastructure and cloud services and recommending process improvements.
- Providing support outside normal business hours as required, including participation in a rotating on-call roster.
This role is a permanent opportunity. 📍 Location: Brisbane. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Extensive experience designing and managing enterprise-grade backups solutions (Commvault, Metallic, Azure Backup).
- Experience in designing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Extensive experience with cloud and virtualised architectures (Azure, GCP, AWS, VMWare).
- Demonstrated experience deploying infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps).
- Experience building, managing, and automating server operating systems (Windows and Red Hat Linux).
- Experience with enterprise directory and identity solutions (Active Directory, Azure Authentication, Single sign-on, MFA).
- Proficiency with configuration management and orchestration tools (Ansible, DSC).
- Strong troubleshooting
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Shell, etc.).
- Knowledge and application of security and compliance standards in infrastructure.
- Graduate degree in Information Technology.
- Experience or working knowledge of containerised applications using Docker and orchestrated with Kubernetes (AKS/GKE),
- Familiarity with Agile and ITIL processes.
- Self-initiator with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
