About the role As the Senior Manager, Incidents and Breaches at Australian Retirement Trust, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end management of incident and breach reporting across the organisation. Reporting to the General Manager, Compliance and Regulatory, you’ll provide expert advice and analysis to senior stakeholders, ensuring compliance with complex legislative obligations. This role is pivotal in driving a strong risk culture, embedding best practice frameworks, and influencing strategic decision-making at the highest levels. You’ll lead a high-performing team, collaborate with key internal and external partners, and champion continuous improvement in risk and compliance processes. Key aspects of the role include: - Lead the incident and breach reporting function, ensuring compliance with APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert, commercially focused advice and comprehensive analysis to senior stakeholders and committees.
- Oversee the identification, assessment, remediation, and prevention of incidents and breaches.
- Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks and policies.
- Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate responses to regulatory requests and audits.
- Develop and deliver functional reports, industry insights, and recommendations to management and the Board.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.
- Foster a culture of compliance, innovation, and excellence within the team and across the business.
- Support the Operational Risk Committee through secretariat and advisory functions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, driving engagement and professional growth.

It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline.
- Extensive leadership experience within a complex, regulated environment, including team management and change leadership.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory breach management in financial services, especially superannuation, wealth management, or insurance.
- Strong understanding of APRA and ASIC licensing obligations and their practical application.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex legislation to real-world scenarios.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and embedding risk and compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex information and communicate them clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting to executive committees or boards.
