Paid Search Specialist

About the role

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Paid Search Specialist at Australian Retirement Trust, you’ll take ownership of the hands-on, in-platform execution of our paid search strategy. You’ll set up and optimise search campaigns to drive member acquisition and engagement, constantly testing bid strategies, refining audience targeting, and leveraging the latest features in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising to boost efficiency and maximise ROI.


You’ll collaborate closely with the Paid Search Manager (who sets the overall strategy), the Member Growth Marketing team, internal stakeholders, agencies, and key partners like Google. Together, you’ll ensure our paid search initiatives are delivered seamlessly and achieve our business goals.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Execute the annual paid search strategy, setting up and optimizing campaigns in Google SA360 and Microsoft Advertising.
  • Monitor campaign performance daily, making real-time adjustments to bids, budgets, and targeting for maximum efficiency.
  • Review ad creatives and landing pages for relevancy and conduct A/B testing to boost engagement and conversions.
  • Implement new technologies and beta features to keep us ahead of industry trends.
  • Support value-based bidding programs to enhance return on ad spend (ROAS).
  • Use analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Search Ads 360, and Looker Studio for performance tracking and reporting.
  • Deliver real-time performance updates and contribute to monthly reporting and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with superannuation regulations and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners like Google, Microsoft Advertising, and media agencies.

 

This role is a 12-month max-term/ secondment opportunity. 

 

📍 Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. 

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Digital, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • You bring extensive experience managing paid search campaigns, ideally in finance or superannuation.
  • You’re an expert in Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Search Ads 360.
  • You’re proficient with GA4, Looker Studio, and PPC analytics tools.
  • You have hands-on experience with bid automation, audience segmentation, and performance optimisation.
