About the role We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a BI Specialist (known internally as Member Insights Specialist – Data and Analytics), you will play a pivotal role in uplifting business growth by providing advanced analytics and actionable insights. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and customer challenges, access and analyse relevant data, and communicate results in a way that enables effective decision making at the highest levels. Day to day, you'll: - Develop and enhance a suite of intuitive dashboards that support analysis, modelling and visualisation of data.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify opportunities and problem areas early.
- Perform data discovery on new and existing data sources (structured and unstructured).
- Apply statistical modelling techniques to generate predictive insights.
- Present data-driven opportunities and insights to senior stakeholders.
- Support the team with membership list generation, ensuring compliance with data management guidelines.
- Integrate data structures for consumption across the business.
- Analyse consumer behaviours and discover new business opportunities through data interrogation.
- Mentor team members and provide expert feedback.
- Implement technical resources for accurate analysis and distribution of member data.
This role is a permanent opportunity. 📍 Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - You have tertiary qualifications (postgraduate desirable) in Statistics, Data Analysis, Information Management, Data Science, Commerce, Econometrics, or a related discipline.
- You're technically proficient with cloud-based data platforms and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI).
- You have experience with statistical models (correlation, regression, cluster analysis, gradient descent, factor analysis) and understand their assumptions.
- You bring strong experience in data structures, analysis, and SQL.
- Your analytical and data mining skills enable you to convert raw data into actionable insights.
- You'll consult widely, build relationships, and confidently present to senior stakeholders.
- You can translate business problems into research questions for quantitative analysis.
- Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent, and you're able to explain technical concepts in plain English.
- You're highly organised, manage your time effectively, and can work independently.
