About the role As a Compliance Partner at Australian Retirement Trust, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting business units to understand and meet their compliance obligations. Acting as a strategic advisor and trusted partner, you’ll collaborate across teams to ensure a consistent and effective compliance framework. This role is integral to uplifting compliance culture, translating regulatory requirements into practical guidance, and proactively identifying and addressing risks. You’ll work closely with both Line 1 and Line 2 functions, helping to shape the organisation’s approach to compliance and regulatory change. Day to day, you'll: - Providing proactive compliance advice and support to business units
- Developing fit-for-purpose compliance plans aligned with operational processes and regulatory expectations
- Interpreting regulatory obligations and translating them into practical, actionable guidance
- Collaborating with other compliance and regulatory teams to align on expectations and assess the impact of new reforms
- Supporting compliance monitoring, reporting, and thematic reviews
- Communicating risks, trends, and emerging issues based on data insights
- Driving remediation and uplift initiatives following incidents or reviews
- Delivering training, awareness, and engagement activities to strengthen compliance culture
- Assisting with the development and implementation of compliance frameworks and processes
- Contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the organisation
About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Significant experience in compliance, legal, or a related area within financial services or superannuation
- Strong understanding of compliance management processes, frameworks, and regulatory expectations
- Deep knowledge of Australian superannuation legislation and prudential standards
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels
- Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory obligations and translate them into practical guidance
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working across multiple teams and functions
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks, trends, and emerging issues
- Commitment to continuous learning and openness to new ideas and perspectives
- Adaptable and proactive, thriving in a dynamic and evolving environment
