About the role We help our members make the most of their money, and you can grow your career while doing it. As a Defined Benefit Specialist, you’ll support our high‑value employers through data‑driven insights and exceptional service. In this role, you’ll handle benefit calculations, correspondence, data exceptions and ad‑hoc reporting, while supporting employers, internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll identify issues early, escalate when needed, and look for opportunities to improve processes, technology and data quality. Day to day, you'll: - Be the primary contact for defined benefit administration and complex member enquiries.
- Prepare accurate benefit quotes, crystallisation calculations and exit documents.
- Manage complex adjustments and contribute to data integrity initiatives.
- Analyse and resolve exception trends and plan issues.
- Provide reporting and insights to support business outcomes.
- Represent the team as an SME across projects and working groups.
- Coordinate and resolve incidents with effective, timely outcomes.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and deliver training to uplift capability.
We have multiple fixed term/secondment and permanent roles available. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: - Extensive experience in defined benefit superannuation, with a strong track record of delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively, supported by intermediate Microsoft Excel capability for data analysis and modelling.
- Ability to work autonomously, using sound judgment to prioritise competing tasks.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on optimising processes and driving efficiencies.
- Strong capability to educate and support staff and customers in data standards and exception resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information simply and professionally.
