Risk Culture and Capability Specialist

About the role

The Risk Culture & Capability Specialist plays a critical role in embedding Australian Retirement Trust’s risk culture strategy across the organisation. You’ll partner closely with business areas to understand their culture and capability needs, using insights from assessments, data, and stakeholder feedback to design targeted, practical interventions. In this hands-on specialist role, you’ll develop and deliver engaging training programs, support culture change activities, and help uplift risk awareness and behaviours at all levels. Your work will directly influence how teams think about risk, make decisions, and maintain accountability in line with ART’s values of courage, empathy, and excellence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analysing culture drivers, shaping capability uplift, and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Execute culture assessment activities such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, and behavioural observations across business areas.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative culture data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Design and deliver engaging training programs on risk culture, risk awareness, and core risk management topics tailored to different audiences.
  • Develop learning materials including workshops, e-learning modules, toolkits, and reference guides.
  • Advise and support Line 1 teams to implement risk culture initiatives and embed best practices.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand culture challenges and co-design targeted solutions.
  • Support communication campaigns and behaviour-change programs aligned with enterprise cultural objectives.
  • Prepare reports, insights, and dashboards on culture metrics and trends for senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor early warning indicators and emerging cultural risks to inform proactive interventions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of culture frameworks, tools, and measurement methodologies.

 

About you

  • Brings experience in culture, risk, capability or organisational development, with a genuine interest in driving behavioural change.
  • Confident facilitating workshops and designing engaging learning experiences for a wide range of audiences.
  • Skilled in gathering insights through interviews, surveys, focus groups, and other culture assessment methods.
  • Able to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data to form clear, meaningful insights.
  • Communicates with clarity and adapts messaging to suit stakeholders at all levels.
  • Builds trusted relationships quickly and acts as a credible advisor to business partners.
  • Approaches challenging conversations with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement.
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys co-designing solutions that are practical and impactful.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Keeps across emerging cultural trends, regulatory expectations, and best practice in capability uplift.
