About the role

We are currently seeking a Product Manager – Insurance Review to play a critical role in the execution of our insurance product transformation. This is a unique opportunity focused ondelivery and execution, supporting the successful transformation of insurance arrangements while protecting member outcomes, continuity of cover and trustee obligations.

 

As the Product Manager – Insurance Review, you’ll will work within a complex delivery environment spanning insurers, administration, operational teams and formal governance forums. You will bring subject‑matter expertise, practical delivery experience, and the ability to drive outcomes across multiple parties.

 

Reporting to Manager, Insurance you will own components of the insurance transition program providing clear analysis, pragmatic recommendations, and disciplined execution to ensure outcomes are delivered on time and with controlled risk.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Own delivery components of the group insurance transition, translating strategic intent into practical, executable plans
  • Apply commercial and business judgement when assessing trade-offs between member outcomes, cost, risk, internal capabilities and delivery timelines
  • Support research and consumer testing activities on existing and potential insurance product features.
  • Contribute to the Insurance Product leadership and Prepare concise, decision-oriented papers and updates for executive, steering committees and other forums.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, regulatory changes, insurance data and reporting to inform product decisions.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including insurers and delivery teams, to assess product enhancements and dependencies.
  • Support business readiness, implementation documentation, and post-transition stabilisation activities.
  • Support business process reviews to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
  • Contribute to communications and disclosure requirements, ensuring regulatory and trustee obligations are met without over-engineering solutions.

This role is a 12-month max-term/ secondment opportunity. 

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex initiatives within the Australian superannuation industry.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to asses cost, risk, operational impact, and member outcomes together.
  • Practical experience supporting or delivering group insurance transitions, renewals, or insurer changes.
  • Proven ability to synthesise complex information into clear, concise reports and memos.
  • Confidence operating in delivery environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and fixed timeframes.
  • Comfortable working as a fixed-term contractor, establishing credibility quickly and driving outcomes without reliance on formal authority.
