About the role

This role is all about sound financial accounting and getting the details right. You’ll work hands‑on with reinsurance and financial data, supporting month‑end, reconciliations and reporting. It’s a great opportunity to strengthen your core accounting skills while learning from experienced finance and actuarial professionals.

You’ll:

• Prepare and review journals, reconciliations and month‑end reporting.
• Support reinsurance accounting, including monthly bordereaux processes.
• Assist with audits, statutory accounts and regulatory reporting.
• Investigate variances and resolve data or balance issues.
• Work closely with actuarial, reinsurance and finance stakeholders.

This is a permanent role based in Brisbane.

About you

You’re someone who thinks things through and doesn’t need hand‑holding. You’re comfortable working with autonomy, asking the right questions, and turning complexity into clear outcomes. You’ve built a solid accounting foundation and you’re ready to own your space.

You’ll bring:

• Completed (or very close to) CAANZ or CPA qualification.
• Experience in financial or assistant accounting roles.
• Strong critical thinking skills, ideally from time spent in consulting or advisory environments.
• Confidence working autonomously and taking initiative in a fast‑moving team.
• Solid financial accounting experience, including reconciliations and month‑end activities.
• Clear, practical communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
