About the role

You’ll turn complex risk datasets into clear, decision‑ready insights that lift organisational risk visibility and inform strategy. You’ll build and maintain intuitive dashboards and high‑quality reports for senior stakeholders, translating analytical findings into practical recommendations. Working closely with business areas and risk teams, you’ll gather requirements, validate data, and deliver tailored solutions. You’ll own data pipelines and quality controls end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy, consistency and confidence in reporting. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating new tools and methods that enhance our risk intelligence capability.

 

Day to day, you'll:

  • Analyse large, complex risk datasets using advanced statistical and analytical techniques to surface trends, patterns and anomalies.
  • Develop regular and ad‑hoc risk reports for senior leadership and governance forums, clearly communicating exposures, control effectiveness and emerging issues.
  • Design, build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualisations (e.g., Power BI) that enable stakeholders to explore risk metrics with ease.
  • Implement and manage processes to consolidate information from multiple systems and sources into reliable reporting datasets.
  • Establish and monitor data validation and quality assurance checks; document sources, definitions, calculations and methodologies.
  • Translate findings into clear, actionable insights and executive summaries tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Partner with business areas and risk teams to understand requirements and deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
  • Support regulatory reviews and examinations with evidence and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement by researching and applying new tools, techniques and best practices across the risk analytics function.

This is a permanent opportunity based in either Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.

 

 

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • Brings strong experience in data analytics, statistical modelling, and transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights.
  • Confident operating within risk frameworks and translating risk concepts into measurable metrics and clear reporting.
  • Highly skilled in Power BI (or similar BI tools) and Excel, with the ability to build intuitive, visually engaging dashboards.
  • Adept in processes to data management and maintaining high standards of data accuracy and quality.
  • Able to communicate complex information clearly and tailor messaging to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Enjoys partnering with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
  • Motivated by problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and exploring opportunities to enhance analytics capability.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities while delivering high‑quality outputs in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Familiar with regulatory expectations and capable of supporting compliance, reporting, and governance needs.
  • Values collaboration, curiosity, and contributing to a positive, high‑performing team culture.
