About the role We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As an Associate Portfolio Manager - Trading, you'll support the execution of investment strategies across a multi‑asset trading desk. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver trading outcomes that are firmly in the best financial interests of our members. The Trading team is responsible for implementing the Fund’s investment strategy through sophisticated trading and execution management, as well as managing a number of strategic derivative overlay and physical implementation mandates. The role offers exposure to domestic and international wholesale financial markets, supported by leading multi‑asset trading systems and execution platforms. Day to day, you'll: - Support the development and execution of the Trading team’s overall strategy.
- Execute trades within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with investment objectives and risk frameworks.
- Manage liquidity and portfolio exposures across investment options and underlying trusts.
- Provide insight and feedback on market dynamics and trading strategy performance.
- Review and validate trading outcomes, recommending enhancements to trade practices where appropriate.
- Contribute to risk management strategies that protect members’ funds.
- Operate as part of a multi‑asset trading desk across derivatives, fixed interest, cash and money market instruments.
- Participate in rostered shifts supporting the International Trading Desk, including global market monitoring, rebalancing and asset allocation implementation.
- Support complex, cross‑functional initiatives such as mandate implementation.
- Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and regulators.
- Ensure strong governance, compliance and risk management practices are upheld at all times.

- You bring strong knowledge of the Australian superannuation industry.
- You have at least 3 years’ trading experience.
- You’re experienced across derivatives, fixed interest and cash instruments.
- You demonstrate highly developed analytical and research capability.
- You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and you’re confident presenting to senior leaders.
- You’re able to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- You bring a collaborative mindset and a strong attention to detail.
- You’re RG146 compliant, or you’ll be willing to complete the required training.
