About the role

As a Software Engineer at Australian Retirement Trust, you will support the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality application solutions that help millions of members make the most of their retirement. Working within a collaborative technology environment, you’ll contribute to reliable, scalable, and user‑centric solutions while adopting modern engineering practices and tools.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Designing, developing, configuring, and supporting application solutions aligned to ART’s technology strategy
  • Building and enhancing solutions using Sitecore CMS and .NET/C# technologies to deliver engaging digital experiences
  • Developing and maintaining front‑end functionality using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries
  • Assessing, analysing, and implementing changes from requirements through to production, including unit testing
  • Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving application incidents and system issues in line with agreed procedures
  • Supporting release and deployment activities, including maintaining build and deployment pipelines
  • Collaborating closely with business, product, and technology stakeholders to deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, documentation standards, and a culture of quality and accountability

 

This role is a permanent opportunity.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent qualification
  • Hands‑on experience with .NET/C# development,
  • Experience in in modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries, including React.js, Next.js, Vue.js, jQuery, and AngularJS
  • Familiarity with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF/CIS) or experience using Material UI (MUI) and Zustand for state management (highly regarded)
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a focus on performance, quality, and maintainability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, including release coordination
  • Proven ability to estimate, plan, and manage development tasks within complex, enterprise‑scale environments
