Derivative Reporting Analyst

About the role

As a Derivative Reporting Analyst, your primary responsibility will be OTC Derivatives Trade Reporting and making sure Australian Retirement Trust's (ART's) quality assurance and oversight program is delivered properly. Supporting the Manager -  Derivative Operations, you will utilise risk management principles, interpersonal skills and develop trusted relationships with system vendors and delegated reporting entities.

 

Day to day, you will: 

  • Execute daily OTC derivative trade reporting to ASIC, covering collateral, valuations, lifecycle events, and economic terms using multiple platforms.

  • Monitor and reconcile delegated reporting entities’ submissions, ensuring completeness and accuracy across key data fields.

  • Support onboarding of new OTC instrument types for both internal trading and delegated reporting entities, collaborating with internal stakeholders and applying regulatory knowledge.

  • Maintain and enhance reporting workflows for internal trading using platforms such as KOR Financial, ensuring alignment with ASIC regulations.

  • Investigate and resolve exceptions, for oversight and internal trade reporting, applying root cause analysis and escalating as per ART’s risk framework.

  • Participate in UAT and system testing for new reconciliations and reporting enhancements.

  • Assist with regulatory compliance reporting and contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives.

  • Recommend and support efficiency initiatives to improve the quality and sustainability of the DTR program.

  • Provide support across margining, collateral management, and securities lending oversight as required.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:  

  • A relevant qualification in in accounting, finance, mathematics or commerce.
  • Extensive knowledge of ASIC Derivatives Trade Reporting Rules.
  • Experience in Treasury Operations within a banking or financial institution environment.
  • Relevant experience in Markets Operations or Middle office, specifically in reconciliation and trade lifecycle management.
  • Relevant OTC experience in FX, Credit, IRS, commodities, or equities required.
  • Knowledge of and/or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and understanding of investments in the superannuation environment.
